In a market where attributions, political contexts, migrations of works and incomplete documents can change an evaluation, caution is not slowness: it is client protection.
Method before promise
A serious opinion does not come from a formula. It comes from readable images, comparison with known works, material analysis, plausible chronology, documents, provenance and declared limits.
When an answer cannot be closed with confidence, Patria prefers to say so clearly. Distinguishing the documentable from the probable is part of the value of expertise.
How it enters the Patria process
In the Patria process the expert enters before the commercial decision: research, comparison, risk note and, when needed, requests for additional images or direct viewing.
This makes the relationship with the client clearer: certainty is not sold where there is only a hypothesis, and a doubt is not ignored only to simplify the purchase.
