Ivan Pokhitonov (attributed)

"Landscape with Houses", Ivan Pokhitonov (attributed). A pictorial watercolor landscape, executed in a miniature manner. The masterful rendering of the cloudy sky, lush greenery, and the finest details (wildflowers in the foreground) creates a remarkably vivid, intimate image of nature. Ivan Pokhitonov (1850–1923) was a Russian landscape painter and a master of miniature painting, who spent most of his life working in France and Belgium. His small-format works, painted with jeweler-like precision, are held in major museums worldwide.
