Criminal Law of the RSFSR. Special Part: Crimes against the State and Social Order
Trainin A. N. «Criminal Law of the RSFSR. Special Part: Crimes against the State and Social Order.» — Leningrad: State Publishing House, 1925. — 272 p. — (Problems of Soviet Law / ed. by Prof. D. A. Magerovsky).
A rare edition in which the system was thoroughly substantiated in comparison with foreign criminal legislation. The work was published in the authoritative series "Problems of Soviet Law," where leading Soviet legal scholars of the 1920s were published under the guidance of Professor D. A. Magerovsky. The publication includes a detailed analysis of crimes against the state and social order with article-by-article commentaries on the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.
This is a fundamental primary source of early Soviet criminal law, which laid the foundations of the system of the Special Part for decades to come. Copies in good condition are rarely encountered, since such legal manuals were actively used in practical work and fell into disrepair. The publication is of particular interest to collectors who assemble legal literature of the first years of Soviet power.
Aron Naumovich Trainin (1883, Vitebsk — 1957, Moscow) was a Russian and Soviet jurist, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1946), and one of the founders of Soviet criminal law science. He represented the USSR in the Commission for the drafting of the Charter of the International Military Tribunal and was a delegate to the International Congress of Jurists.
