Portable folding iconostasis. Height 50 cm. Width of each leaf 9 cm.

This extraordinary portable folding iconostasis, composed of 15 panels, is an exceptionally rare example of sacred art, conceived to accompany prayer during travel.

Unlike common devotional triptychs or diptychs, this example presents a complete iconographic cycle arranged across 15 leaves. Such a complex structure is extremely rare, as it requires the master to exercise almost goldsmith-like precision in designing the opening mechanism and arranging each individual icon harmoniously.

A further mark of quality is the painting, executed entirely by hand on wood in rigorous observance of the traditional canons of the ancient school of icon painting. The warm natural pigments and refined handling lend the images profound spiritual intensity and extraordinary expressive power.

The iconostasis perfectly retains its functionality: all 15 leaves close precisely to form a compact block, while the robust clasp and ingenious structure allow it to be transported safely even on long journeys.

Examples of this calibre appear only very rarely on the international auction market. This is therefore a unique opportunity to acquire an object combining spiritual value, exceptional rarity for collectors and craftsmanship of the highest quality.
