Winter Harmony in Naddniprianskyi Park
In this luminous lithograph, Naddniprianskyi Park in winter is transformed into a scene of refined harmony.
Soft snowdrifts enter into dialogue with the vertical rhythm of the stadium fence, while the monumental silhouette of the Government Building emerges in the background, enveloped in winter haze.
The delicate balance of light, architecture and landscape gives the work an atmosphere of serenity and solemnity.
This work was exhibited in «Graphic Art of the Soviet and Post-Soviet Period» and is reproduced in the exhibition catalogue. Germany, 2025.
Artist biography
Halyna Harkavenko (1933-2008) was a Ukrainian graphic artist. Her first artistic training came through her family, and she later graduated from the graphics department of the Kyiv Art Institute in 1959.
She became a member of the artists' union in 1964 and exhibited widely in Ukraine, the Soviet Union and abroad. Harkavenko is known for linocut and watercolor work; her Kyiv series received strong critical attention and her works are held in museums, galleries and private collections.
