The corrected second edition of one of the oldest monuments of Russian legislation in the veche tradition, edited by Professor Nikolaj Murzakevich, who discovered the complete text of the Charter in Odessa in 1843.
Dedicated to the memory of Prince Michail Semenovich Voroncov, the volume contains the text of the monument, a facsimile reproduction of the original, and an explanatory glossary of archaic terms.
The Pskov Judicial Charter, one of the fundamental sources of Russian civil law after the Russkaja Pravda, reflects the social and economic life of the Pskov lands in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries and influenced the later Sudebniki of Ivan III and Ivan the Terrible.
A bibliographic rarity of great value to collectors of historical and legal literature.
